DriveTrack ("we", "us", "our") is a driving trip tracker for Android and iOS. We respect your privacy.
Location is core to the app. When you start or auto-detect a trip, we collect precise GPS data to record your route, distance, speed, and map. This data is stored only on your device unless you export it yourself.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and Google AdMob to show ads. We do not sell your personal data. You can delete your trip data at any time in the app or by uninstalling.
DriveTrack accesses and collects precise location data (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and accuracy) when you record a driving trip.
When we collect it
How we use it
Where it is stored: All GPS points and trip records are saved in a local database on your device. We do not transmit your trip routes or coordinates to our own servers.
Permissions: The app may request "Allow all the time" location access when you enable background Auto Tracking. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; trip recording will stop working without it.
Bluetooth information
If you enable Auto Tracking, you choose a Bluetooth device (e.g. your car). We store the device name and MAC address locally so the app can start and stop trips when that device connects or disconnects. We do not upload this to our servers.
App preferences
Settings such as unit system, theme, auto-tracking toggle, and ad preferences are stored locally on your device.
Analytics (Firebase / Google Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data, such as which screens are viewed. This helps us improve the app. We do not collect your name, email, or trip data through analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
We display ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and usage data to serve and measure ads. You can disable ads in the app's Settings. See How Google uses data in advertising.
Notifications
With your permission, we send local notifications when a trip auto-starts or auto-stops. No notification content is sent to our servers.
Trip and location data
Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. We do not set an automatic expiry — you control how long your driving history is kept.
App settings and preferences
Retained on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.
Analytics data
Retained by Google Firebase according to their default retention settings (typically up to 14 months). We do not control Google's retention periods.
Advertising data
Retained by Google AdMob according to Google's advertising policies.
We do not operate backend servers that store your personal driving data.
You can delete your data in several ways:
Delete individual trips (in the app)
Delete all app data
Export before deleting (optional)
Settings → Export Database lets you save a copy of your trip data to another app or cloud storage before you delete it.
Request deletion by email
Because we do not store your trip data on our servers, most deletion is done on your device as described above. If you have questions or need help, contact us at frankoprifti@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request". We will respond within 30 days.
For analytics or advertising data held by Google, you can manage or reset your advertising ID in your device settings, or use Google's data controls.
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only with:
We do not share your trip routes, GPS history, or driving records with third parties.
DriveTrack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us at frankoprifti@gmail.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
